Fleet benchmarking reports that use 29 million data points are now being made available as standard to all fleets who use our 1link Service Network platform to process service, maintenance and repair (SMR).

The three Fleet Improvement Dashboards offer data gathered from over 15.5 million invoices, totalling a £3.9 billion spend over the last five years on 1link Service Network. They are designed to help fleets quickly and easily compare their cost performance on an industrywide basis, providing everything from a global to a granular view.

Tim Meadows, CCO, epyx, said: “The 1link platform is regarded as the most comprehensive fleet SMR database in the UK and about a year ago, we began to make key information available to our customers through the Fleet Improvement Dashboards.

“We’re always looking for ways to add value to our overall proposition and we’ve decided to now make them available for free to our fleet client base. Major businesses operating vehicles are currently under considerable pressure to minimise their spending after a long period of rising SMR costs, and this is our contribution to that effort.

“Our benchmarking provides fleets with a real world picture of running costs that is accurate and timely, highlighting the areas where they need to bring spending down. It has the potential to make a measurable difference to SMR costs for many of the UK’s largest fleets and we expect it to be widely used.”

The first dashboard is SMR Benchmarking and provides vehicle comparisons down to a line level basis. Filters can be applied covering manufacturer, model, derivative, date range and more, providing insight into where spend is ahead and behind of the industry average, with cost-based colour coding identifying areas where managerial action needs to be taken.

Lifetime SMR Benchmarking is the second dashboard, and shows how SMR costs evolve over the age and mileage of a vehicle. Benchmarked at 5,000-mile increments, it means that expected SMR costs can be easily baselined, viewed and understood, aiding with cost forecasting and decisions on when to dispose of cars and vans.

Finally, the third dashboard is the Electric Vehicle (EV) Market Overview, creating a range of insights into fleet adoption of EVs, providing in-depth cost comparisons to hybrid and internal combustion engine (ICE) cars and vans on both an individual company and industrywide basis, available right down to the level of repairs, tyres, servicing and more.

They have genuine value when it comes to managing SMR costs whether across entire major fleets or individual vehicles and are continuously refined and improved.
