Benedikt Hesselmann appointed key account manager

Benedikt Hesselmann has been named key account manager at Business Gateway as the company continues to expand following its acquisition by Corpay last year.

He will be responsible for the day-to-day management of strategic relationships with several of the largest vehicle leasing and fleet management companies in Europe as part of a remit covering Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

With almost two decades of software product and project management experience, Benedikt has spent the last 18 years working for automotive solutions provider OEConnection and was responsible for leading product development and account management of their tyre and billing solution.

He said: “I’m very pleased to be joining Business Gateway at this moment. Working as part of the Corpay organisation, the company is gearing up to become an even greater force in fleet e-commerce not just in Germany but across other key European territories.

“Especially, we’re investing in our technology so that customers can use it for autoservice transactions as well as tyres. This is a major step forward for our business and the entire fleet market.”

In the last six months, half a dozen new appointments have been made by Business Gateway across the product support and technical teams to support systems from Germany to Sweden.

Charlie Brooks, strategy director, Business Gateway, said: “Since the acquisition in early 2023, we have been undertaking a major investment programme in all areas of Business Gateway including not just our core technology but customer service, security, compliance, governance – and staff.

“As part of this process, Benedikt is a key appointment for us, with a proven track record and strong knowledge of the sectors in which we work. We are very pleased to welcome him aboard and he will be a critical part of our future plans.”

In March, the business used the Flotte! event to launch a new tyre and and strategic relationship management platform, 1link powered by Business Gateway, that makes its technology available to medium-sized fleets for the first time.

Charlie added: “This is an important product for us, making our core expertise in tyre and autoservice management available to thousands more fleet customers. Initial feedback has been excellent, and now taking it to market will be very much job number one for Benedikt and the team around him.”
