runyourfleet has adopted 1link Hire Network to manage growing demand for daily rental services from across its customer base.

Steve Whitmarsh, Managing Director at the fleet management company, explained that using the platform had produced rapid results, with volumes almost doubling very quickly.

He said: “Daily Rental is a key part of our portfolio and looks to become even more important in the future. However, it is an area where we felt held back by using a legacy system that wasn’t providing the flexibility we needed to meet customer requirements. Thanks to our existing relationship with epyx as a user of their 1link Service Network service, maintenance and repair platform, adopting 1link Hire Network seemed like the obvious decision.

“Probably the best indication of the success of the new platform for us is that we have pretty much doubled our monthly rental volumes and much of this is because we are now confident that we have the right infrastructure in place.

“Everything about the system works well for us from making and managing bookings to handling invoicing. It’s also easier to use the system in a commercial sense, so that we can more easily negotiate with suppliers and offer different tariffs for different customers. We are simply much more nimble and flexible.”

At the same time as adopting 1link Hire Network, runyourfleet also chose to adopt epyx’s Downtime Management module for 1link Service Network, which acts as a bridge to SMR booked through the platform, making short term hire cover easier and minimising unneeded rental days.

Steve said: “We’re especially pleased with the ease-of-use around vehicle-off-road, end-of-life and off-hire. All of this happens without difficulty thanks to the integration between 1link Service Network and 1link Hire Network through Downtime Management.

“We are a technology-driven company and we needed a system that delivered for us when it came to rental. If it wasn’t for 1link Hire Network, we’d have had to build our own platform but it does everything we have been looking for.”
